BarcodeWeb is a free online barcode tool for creating Code 128, EAN-13, UPC-A, and QR Codes. Generate a code, preview it instantly, and download the result for digital use, labels, documents, inventory, packaging, and more.
Create barcodes and QR codes in your browser — quickly, simply, and without an account.
Create a barcode in a few seconds. Enter the value you want to encode, choose a format, and generate your code. You can then download the result as PNG, SVG, or PDF.
Bulk mode creates Code 128 barcodes. Enter one value per line or separate values with commas. For a reliable download, use up to 100 values per batch.
The best format depends on the data you need to represent and the system that will scan it. Use this guide before generating a code.
Choose Code 128 for internal inventory IDs, parcel references, asset tags and other values containing letters or numbers. It is a one-dimensional barcode and is not, by itself, an official retail product identifier.
Example: INV-2048-A
Use EAN-13 when your workflow specifically requires a 13-digit retail barcode. The final digit is a check digit used to detect many data-entry errors. A valid graphic does not assign a product number.
Input: 13 digits with a valid check digit.
Use UPC-A when the retailer or system requires the 12-digit UPC-A format. The last digit is a check digit. Confirm the identifier is properly assigned before using it on commercial packaging.
Input: 12 digits with a valid check digit.
Choose a QR Code for URLs, short text, contact details or other supported information. Check that the encoded destination is correct and that the code can be scanned from the size and distance you expect.
Example: https://example.com
EAN-13 and UPC-A use a check digit to help detect common typing errors. BarcodeWeb checks the supplied digits before drawing these formats, so an invalid value receives a clear message instead of a misleading preview.
Important: A correct check digit only confirms that the number passes this arithmetic check. It does not prove that a retail identifier is officially assigned, licensed to you, or accepted by a retailer.
Check that the input is not empty, select the intended format and review the on-screen error. EAN-13 and UPC-A need the correct number of digits and a matching check digit. Code 128 accepts a different range of values than retail formats.
PNG is convenient for common documents and web use. SVG is useful for scalable artwork when a genuine vector file is generated. PDF is convenient for sharing or printing. Always inspect the downloaded file and test a printed sample before relying on it.
BarcodeWeb.com is designed to make everyday barcode creation straightforward. The goal is simple: provide a useful browser-based tool that lets people create common barcode and QR formats without installing software or creating an account.
Whether you are preparing an inventory label, testing a product identifier, creating a shipping reference, or making a QR code for a link, the generator puts the basic workflow in one place.
BarcodeWeb is designed as a lightweight browser-based utility. The generator does not require an account, and barcode values are processed in your browser for generation. The site provides practical format guidance so visitors can understand both what a generated code does and what it does not do.
A barcode is a machine-readable representation of information. Traditional one-dimensional (1D) barcodes use patterns of bars and spaces, while two-dimensional (2D) codes such as QR Codes use a grid of modules to represent information.
When a compatible scanner or camera reads a barcode, the encoded value can be passed to another system such as a point-of-sale application, inventory system, shipping workflow, or website.
The important point is that a barcode is a way of representing data; it does not automatically create or register a product number for you. For retail products, identifiers such as UPC-A and EAN-13 may need to come from the appropriate issuing organization.
Each format is suited to a different kind of data and workflow. Choose the format that matches how the code will be used.
1D barcode commonly used for logistics, inventory, shipping, and internal identification.
It is a compact, high-density format that can represent letters and numbers, making it useful when the encoded value is not limited to a retail product number.
1D retail barcode designed around a 13-digit structure and widely used for products in international retail environments.
For commercial products, the number itself should be properly assigned through the relevant identification system before it is printed on packaging.
1D retail barcode commonly associated with products sold through retail systems in the United States and Canada.
UPC-A uses a 12-digit structure. Generating the graphic does not assign an official UPC number.
2D code that can encode information such as URLs, text, contact details, and other data that can be read by compatible cameras and scanners.
QR Codes are particularly convenient for mobile users because a phone camera can often scan them directly.
| Format | Best suited to | Typical data | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
| Code 128 | Inventory, logistics, shipping, internal labels | Letters and numbers | 1D |
| EAN-13 | Retail product identification | 13-digit structure | 1D |
| UPC-A | Retail product identification | 12-digit structure | 1D |
| QR Code | Web links, information, mobile interactions | Text and other supported data | 2D |
